Faun/Satyr Horns Close-Up by zacpfaff Faun/Satyr Horns Close-Up by zacpfaff
Here's a close-up shot of the horns I made for my faun/satyr costume. I sculpted these out of white Sculpie, baked them, added translucent ridges & texture with a hot glue gun, and finished them off with acrylic paint (sponged with a little gold paint at the end for a shimmer).

They're about 3 to 3.25 inches long from base to tip.

how did you wear them? did you use some sort of facial/skin costume glue?

There's this amazing clear string available at Michael's that comes in different thicknesses and all are stretchy.  For the first few times worn i hot glued the horns to a loop of said string.  The glue on the base of the horns didn't hold well thought.  I'm planning to figure out a new way to fasten the string to the horns.

I recommend not getting the super thin string, it's far less visible but need to be tied tightly to hold anything and thus cuts into the skin.  On of the middle thickness strings should work.  I'm thinking about gluing a circular piece of felt to the bottom of the horns (comfy) with a gap from side to side for the string to go through.

I tried to spirit gum the horns to my forehead, but they were a bit too heave to stay on for very long.  Even if I had gotten them to stay with the gum, i'd be worried about them falling off all day, since forehead/brow movement happens a lot while I'm emoting.

Np! ;)  Please send me a link to your costume when you finish!  I'd love to see it.  The horns were one of my favorite parts to make.
